Zimbabwe has launched a nationwide digital skills program to train 1.5 million coders. The program is supported by the United Arab Emirates.
It was officially launched at the POTRAZ Head Office in Harare. The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services is leading the project.
The initiative is part of a partnership between Zimbabwe and the UAE. It falls under the Government Experience Exchange Program.
Young Zimbabweans will learn key digital skills. These include Programming Fundamentals, Android Kotlin Development, AI Basics, and Data Science Fundamentals.
The goal is to build a tech-savvy workforce. This move could open new economic doors and boost national innovation.

Uniting for a Digital Future
Hon. Abdullar Lutah attended the event as the UAE representative. He said the initiative will help create empowered digital citizens.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of ICT, Hon. T.A. Mavetera, was the Guest of Honour. She praised everyone who helped bring the project to life.

She thanked various ministries and agencies for their strong support. These include education, technology, and the Office of the President.
