TRANSFORM, an impact accelerator led by Unilever, the British High Commission (BHC) Nairobi, and EY, has announced $540K in grant funding.
The funding will support five innovative Kenyan startups. These startups were chosen from 1,500 applicants who responded to an open call. Each finalist aims to create positive social and environmental change with their unique solutions.
In addition to grant funding, TRANSFORM Accelerator provides vital business insights, practical experience, resources, and networks to help these startups scale. This is the first collaboration between Unilever, BHC Nairobi, and EY in East Africa for this program.
Neil Wigan, the British High Commissioner to Kenya, praised the initiative. He stated, “These innovative projects offer new solutions to critical challenges in Kenya and the region. The UK is proud to support these entrepreneurs and create jobs.”
Hadijah Nannyomo from EY LLP emphasized the importance of this collaboration. She said, “It’s impactful to see Unilever, EY, and the British High Commission work together. This support helps unlock progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
