Standard Chartered has launched SC GPT, a Generative AI tool across 41 markets. The tool will enhance efficiency. SC GPT will improve client engagement and drive operational productivity. It will empower over 70,000 employees worldwide. The Bank aims to integrate AI into its business strategy.
The tool will tailor sales and marketing efforts. It will also advance automation in software engineering. SC GPT will scale how risks are measured, managed, and reported.
“SC GPT reflects our people-focused approach to AI and commitment to innovation with responsibility,” said Mohammed Rahim. Standard Chartered’s Group Chief Data Officer, Rahim, said, “We developed the tool with strong governance and ethical AI principles at its core.”
He added, “As we scale GenAI across our business, we remain committed to responsible AI adoption, guided by our responsible AI framework to mitigate potential biases and promote fairness.”

A Customized Version in the Works for Better Market-Specific Solutions
A more customised version of SC GPT is underway. This version will help the Bank use Group data. It will solve problems specific to Standard Chartered. Local teams will also leverage SC GPT for tailored solutions.
These solutions will address market-specific needs. Use cases include content generation, digital marketing, translation, and customer services. The tool will assist in product and service advisory.
