Tech startups aiming to revolutionise the agriculture and food tech sector in Africa have a chance to join the SAIS Investment Readiness Programme, to facilitate their growth.
The Investment Readiness Programme under the “Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Startups” (SAIS) project, which is executed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the German Agency for International Cooperation.
Financial contributions from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation also support this initiative.
The Investment Readiness Programme provides a comprehensive, year-long support initiative for selected food and agri-tech businesses, aimed at facilitating their fundraising efforts and promoting scalability.
This program encompasses a range of benefits, including personalised coaching sessions conducted by both local and international experts, access to individualised online training modules, and the availability of supplementary services such as legal counsel, online marketing assistance, and optimization of digital products.

In addition, participating companies will have the opportunity to utilise a local hub or office space and gain access to the extensive investor and partner network of the organising team.
Moreover, the program places special emphasis on supporting female founders and women in key leadership roles within startups.
This offers networking opportunities, peer-to-peer learning, and enhanced visibility as part of its commitment to gender diversity and empowerment.
