Morocco to Host GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech

Morocco will host GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech from April 14 to 16. Over 1,450 exhibitors and 45,000 participants will attend.

The event will bring together tech leaders, startups, and investors from over 130 countries. The goal is to shape Africa’s digital future.

This year’s edition is organized by KAOUN International under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI. It is backed by the Ministry of Digital Transition and the Digital Development Agency (ADD).

GITEX to Drive Africa’s Digital Growth

The event will feature countries like Gabon, Niger, and Zambia, as well as Belgium, Switzerland, and Uzbekistan.

It aims to power innovation, investment, research, and partnerships across the continent. AI, cybersecurity, mobility, and agritech will be key focus areas.

“Morocco’s choice to host this major continental event… is the result of rigorous and sustained work,” said Mrs Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition.

She added, “It is also part of the implementation of the High Royal Guidelines of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.”

Mr. Mohammed Drissi Melyani, Director General of ADD, said, “GITEX Africa Morocco has become a major annual milestone on the global tech agenda and a defining moment in the continent’s digital transformation.”

He added, “The continent now refuses to settle for consuming technology. Therefore, it is determined to create it.”

Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, said, “This third edition of GITEX AFRICA Morocco shall usher the African economies into the epoch of Ai evolution.”

She said, “GITEX AFRICA will converge in Morocco global ecosystem experts and enablers to empower and inspire stakeholders in their mission.”

Startups and Investors Take Center Stage

African startups will be spotlighted throughout the event. Over 350 investors from 35 countries will attend with $200 billion in assets.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) will participate with selected startups. The SheWins Africa programme will feature 10 women-led startups.

Visitors will also see the Supernova Challenge, the biggest early-stage startup competition in Africa. Morocco 200 will promote local startups globally.

Big Tech and New Industries Join In

Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, Salesforce, and China Mobile will showcase new technologies. Saudi Made and Presight will represent the Middle East.

The 2025 edition will explore energy transition, edutech, sports tech, and more. It aims to expand beyond traditional tech themes.

Major Moroccan institutions support GITEX Africa, including Royal Air Maroc, ONCF, OCP, ONDA, AMDIE, ONMT, and CGEM.

This third edition shows Africa’s growing ambition to lead in technology. Morocco continues to rise as the continent’s digital hub.
