Konecta Invests $100 Million to Launch Regional HQ in Egypt

Konecta Group has announced the opening of its regional headquarters in New Cairo, Egypt. The Spanish company, known for digital and AI-driven customer experience solutions, will invest $100 million over three years. This move will create 3,000 jobs and expand Egypt’s role in the global IT market.

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Konecta Egypt.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta, also participated in the event.

Boosting Talent Development and Digital Services

Under the agreement, Konecta will establish a Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Gen-AI in Egypt. This center will support global delivery operations and use advanced knowledge from Konecta’s expertise.

Konecta’s investment will focus on AI solutions, cybersecurity, big data, IoT, technical support, and multilingual customer services. The company will offer services in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, and Mr. Ahmed El-Harany, CEO of Konecta for the Middle East and Africa, signed the MoU. The agreement includes training programs to enhance the skills of Egyptian workers.

Dr. Amr Talaat said, “Konecta’s decision to expand its operations in Egypt will not only create valuable job opportunities but also play a pivotal role in developing young talents capable of meeting the growing demand for outsourcing services across European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.”

Strengthening Egypt’s IT Sector

Eng. Ahmed El Zaher highlighted Egypt’s potential, saying, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing Egypt’s IT sector.

“It also underscores the growing confidence of leading global IT companies in Egyptian talent. It will generate diverse job opportunities across key areas, including business process outsourcing, IT services, and engineering R&D.”

Nourdine Bihmane emphasized Konecta’s dedication to innovation, stating, “By establishing our regional headquarters in Egypt, we aim to harness the country’s exceptional talent pool to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions.”

Mr. Ahmed El-Harany expressed optimism about the expansion, saying, “Choosing Egypt as a regional hub for our operations stems from its competitive advantages, particularly its highly skilled workforce and advanced digital infrastructure.”

The partnership supports Egypt’s vision to become a leading hub for IT and communication technology services. It aims to boost exports and attract more investments, strengthening Egypt’s global IT position.
