Kenyan Community in Victoria Hosts Special Investment Forum

Last evening, the Kenyan community in Victoria held a special investment forum, joined by H.E. Dr Ambassador Wilson Kogo, who addressed attendees during this significant event.

The forum brought together representatives from Kenya’s private sector, including financial institutions and real estate companies, to engage with the diaspora and explore potential investment and collaboration opportunities.

In his remarks, Ambassador Kogo encouraged the community to keep the spirit of Kenyan-ness alive, reminding them that “one’s country is like a shadow—you cannot run away from it.” He stressed the importance of the current generation’s contribution to shaping a better future for the generations to come.

Reflecting on his achievements during his seven-month tenure in Canberra, the Ambassador highlighted key milestones, including the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Kenya and Australia, with more significant announcements expected soon.

Ambassador Kogo has been actively travelling across Australia and New Zealand, meeting and serving Kenyans through consular services. More importantly, he has focused on empowering the Kenyan community and strengthening business and cultural ties between Kenyans and Australians.

He urged the community to embrace entrepreneurship and investment, stating:
“Every time we celebrate Jamhuri Day, Madaraka Day… we remember our forefathers and their historical contributions. Ladies and gentlemen, what are we doing to take charge of the Kenyan narrative? It has never been easy, but we must rise to build and contribute to Kenya’s development. It is our duty to build.”

Ambassador Kogo reiterated his commitment to supporting Kenyans abroad, enhancing Kenya–Australia relations, and tapping into the enormous opportunities that lie between the two nations.
