GITEX GLOBAL 2024: Dubai Hosts World’s Largest Tech Event with Focus on AI and Digital Economy

Dubai is set to host GITEX GLOBAL 2024, the world’s biggest tech and startup event. The 44th edition promises to reshape the digital economy and AI landscape.

The Dubai World Trade Centre will host the event from October 14-18.It brings together over 6,500 companies, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from 180 countries.

This year’s theme is “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy.” It focuses on cutting-edge advancements in AI, IoT, data, and the cloud.

GITEX will also feature the region’s largest Data Centre Symposium and more than 120 hours of deep tech-focused content.

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC, stated, “We are committed to strategically propelling the next generation of AI-driven technologies via startups, scale-ups, and unicorns.”

GITEX GLOBAL 2024: AI Takes Centre Stage

According to Fortune Business Insights, the global AI market could hit $621 billion in 2024 and $2.7 trillion by 2032. GITEX 2024 will present over 3,500 enterprises introducing breakthrough innovations in AI and tech.

Moreover, tech giants such as Adobe, Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Google, Huawei, IBM, and Microsoft will be among the key participants.

Abu Dhabi’s top companies, including the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and G42 Group, will enhance the UAE’s global AI leadership.

“GITEX GLOBAL is a springboard to unlock this potential.” Said Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group. He is also the Managing Director of Dubai Internet City.

A Global Platform for Innovation and Investment

Running concurrently with GITEX is the Expand North Star event at Dubai Harbour from October 13-16. The event will focus on startups and investment.

It connects founders with enterprise clients, investors, and venture capitalists managing over $1.2 trillion in assets. The Supernova Challenge 2.0 will offer a $200,000 prize pool to innovative startups.

This year’s GITEX features participation from 400 government and digital agencies globally. For the first time, over 35 European countries and emerging digital nations from Southeast Asia and Latin America will exhibit at the event.

Leo Chen, Senior Vice President of Huawei also said, “GITEX GLOBAL offers a unique platform for us to engage in meaningful dialogues with industry peers.”

GITEX GLOBAL 2024 is expected to set new standards in the tech world. Additionally, it will cement the UAE’s role as a global innovation hub.
