Fighting for Fair Pay and Leadership
The network will fight poor salaries, lack of leadership roles, and workplace inequality. Women in media still face bias and limited opportunities.
“I encouraged them to work hard at addressing challenges such as poor remuneration, low representation in leadership positions in newsrooms,” Abubakar said.
She also highlighted other problems like sexism, stereotyping, and harassment. The network aims to create change and push for equal opportunities.
Ghana Moving a Step Toward Equality
Women in media need platforms to share concerns and demand fairness. The new network hopes to create a strong support system.
With more women in leadership, the media industry will be more balanced and inclusive. The group plans to engage policymakers and media owners.
The launch marks a significant step for women in Ghana’s media industry. Many hope it will bring lasting change and fairness.
