Envision Energy has won a major contract to power Egypt’s 1.1 gigawatt (GW) onshore wind farm in the Gulf of Suez.
Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power developed this project . It will be one of the largest in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This initiative will boost Egypt’s renewable energy goals and promote sustainability in the region.
The wind farm will feature 138 advanced turbines, each with an 8 MW capacity. These turbines, designed by Envision Energy, are ideal for Egypt’s high winds and sandy environment.
The project is managed by Suez Wind Energy, a joint venture by ACWA Power and HAU Energy. It’s financing is from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The turbines will include Envision’s Galileo system, which analyzes real-time wind data for better performance and reliability. The project also includes 25 years of long-term maintenance services to ensure efficiency.

The project will boost Egypt’s renewable energy infrastructure and create jobs. The project will attract further investors and also spark innovation in the region.
