AWIEF and Victoria’s Secret Partner to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria

The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has announced the launch of its Growth Accelerator program in Nigeria, in collaboration with the iconic global brand Victoria’s Secret & Co.

This initiative is part of The Tour Impact Fund. Victoria’s Secret initiative has often advanced gender equality. More so,empowering women globally.

AWIEF is one of the only four organizations worldwide partnering with Victoria’s Secret on The Tour Impact Fund. AWIEF proudly extends its flagship AWIEF Growth Accelerator to SMEs owned or led by women.This initiative is for programs that are based and operating in Nigeria.

This partnership underscores both organizations’ shared vision of a more inclusive world. At the same time, their commitment to advancing opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

AWIEF Calls for Application

AWIEF has been in action since 2017. Similarly, the AWIEF Growth Accelerator is a high-level business development program designed to support ventures led by women and oriented towards high growth. They include business development training, growth strategy, mentorship, and access to finance.

In 2024, AWIEF’s partnership with Victoria’s Secret will provide twenty women founders and/or leaders of innovative, growth-stage businesses based in Nigeria with the opportunity to participate in a seven-month, high-impact investment readiness program.

On the other hand, the program targets multi-sector businesses, with priority given to technology-based and tech-enabled ventures in catalytic sectors. AWIEF and Victoria’s Secret Partner to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The include agriculture, health, education, creative industry, financial services, renewable energy, logistics, and climate-smart solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

However, to qualify for selection, businesses must meet specific criteria.

They include being women-owned or women-led, based and operating in Nigeria. At the same time , they must be highly innovative and scalable, in the post-revenue stage. Similarly, ambitious and committed women entrepreneurs seeking investment or funding to scale and expand must own or lead them.

The deadline for applications is 24 March 2024.

AWIEF collaboration with Victoria’s Secret signifies a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. More over, it helps to foster economic growth and gender equality.

Through this partnership, women-led businesses in Nigeria will gain access to essential resources. Likewise, they will get support to drive positive change and innovation in society.
