Airbnb Africa Travel Summit to Take Place in Johannesburg

Johannesburg, South Africa, will play host to a gathering of over 200 policymakers, tourism experts, innovators, and changemakers from across Africa for the Airbnb Africa travel summit.

This event will serve as a platform for these participants to engage in discussions, foster innovation, and promote collaboration in the pursuit of constructing an inclusive and sustainable tourism sector on the continent.

Besides, Africa travel summit represents Airbnb’s dedication to creating a more inclusive tourism economy, and it aims to facilitate partnerships between the government and private sectors to collectively address and overcome entrenched obstacles to entry and inequality within the industry.

Velma Corcoran, Airbnb’s Regional Lead for the Middle East and Africa, emphasised the importance of the Africa Travel Summit in supporting the ongoing recovery and expansion of the tourism industry

“To support the continued recovery and growth of the tourism industry, the Africa Travel Summit will bring together the leading thinkers from across the continent to discuss how we can leverage technology and innovation to empower more local families and their communities to benefit from African travel.

“We look forward to facilitating important discussions amongst industry, policymakers and changemakers to collaboratively build a sustainable and inclusive tourism model that benefits everyone.

“An event that we are certain will both inspire and ignite entrepreneurial spirit across Africa,” Corcoran stated.
