Treepz, the African car-sharing and rental marketplace, is unveiling an innovative insurance initiative for car rentals on the continent.
This new program, Treepz Care, emerged from a partnership with Octamile, an insurtech startup.
Moreover, the firm stated that this insurance program is set to transform the landscape of travel and mobility throughout Africa, providing extensive coverage and assurance to its diverse community of guests and hosts.
The program includes a range of insurance services, including Guest Protection, which provides coverage for accidents encompassing death, bodily injuries, and disabilities.

This entails benefits like death benefits, coverage for permanent disabilities, and reimbursement of medical expenses.
Additionally, Host Protection is part of the program, offering driver accident insurance with coverage for accidents involving death, bodily injuries, and disabilities.
The comprehensive insurance service provides coverage for damages to one’s own vehicle, third-party liability, and theft. This includes provisions for repairing or replacing the vehicle in case of an accident, as well as compensating for losses in the event of theft.
Treepz Redefining Insurance for Vehicle Owners in Africa
Treepz Care includes 3rd Party Insurance for Vehicle Owners, providing coverage for third-party accidents, covering death, bodily injuries, and disabilities, and offering benefits such as funeral expenses, medical costs, and compensation for personal belongings.

In order to simplify the insurance adoption process for guests, Treepz has seamlessly integrated guest protection coverage into the booking process.
This means that guests can enjoy its benefits without any extra steps. For hosts, obtaining various policy covers like host protection, third-party vehicle insurance, and comprehensive vehicle insurance has been made convenient.
They can opt in during their onboarding process, access it through their host account within the app, or opt for personalised onboarding by contacting Treepz.
