Mission 300 Plan to Drive Energy Access

Mission 300 was launched in April 2024 by the African Development Bank and the World Bank Group. It aims to provide electricity to 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. The plan focuses on increased infrastructure investment and policy reforms across the electricity supply chain.

Currently, 600 million Africans lack electricity access. This figure represents 83% of the global energy deficit. “Accelerating the pace of electrification in Africa is urgent – and within reach,” said summit organizers.

The summit will also bring together sector experts, civil society organizations, and academics. Discussions will focus on strategies to consolidate progress already made by African countries.

Stakeholders will collaborate to improve lives and livelihoods by ensuring universal electrification. The summit’s agenda emphasizes action to address Africa’s energy challenges and transform communities.

The Africa Energy Summit will play a key role in shaping Africa’s energy future.
