GSA Names 56 Regional Winners for Continental Finals in Africa

Fifty-six startups, investors, and ecosystem players from Africa have been named regional winners in the Global Startup Awards (GSA) competition. These winners now move on to the continental finals.

GSA Africa is the continent’s largest independent startup competition. It serves as the main platform for the GIIG Africa Fund to discover, fund, and scale innovative startups with solutions aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.

Regional Winners Compete for Top Honors

This year, the competition attracted 11,949 entries. They have narrowed the list to 56 regional winners from 22 countries. Additionally, There are 14 winners each from Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Africa.

The selected finalists will compete at the continental level, and the final winners announced in October at the GSA Africa Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Regional winners will have the chance to connect with the GIIG Africa Fund. This fund balances commercial success with social impact.

Moreover, it invests in startups that are both profitable and socially responsible. The goal is to ensure these startups benefit society at large.
