Zoho and She Code Africa Partner to Empower Women in Tech

Global tech company Zoho has teamed up with She Code Africa (SCA) to empower African women in technology. Zoho will host “Train the Trainer” sessions for SCA Academy trainers, focusing on Zoho Creator, their low-code app development platform.

These sessions aim to equip trainers with the skills to use Zoho Creator effectively. Once trained, these trainers will teach more students in SCA how to build impactful applications using low-code technology.

This initiative is part of the ‘Young Creators Program’ (YCP), launched globally by Zoho Creator in 2022. The YCP aims to train and prepare future business leaders with advanced digital skills. It encourages technological innovation and fosters the development of tech-savvy leaders and innovators.

Zoho Empowering Women Through Training

Zoho will host 30 female trainers from the SCA Academy for a three-day immersive training session in Lagos, Nigeria.

These sessions will cover enterprise-grade application development using low-code technology. Participants will receive training materials and free access to the Creator platform for one year.

Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, stated, “At Zoho, we believe in supporting local communities by upskilling and hiring local talent, empowering local businesses with our technology, and promoting responsible and sustainable development.”

This partnership reflects Zoho’s commitment to supporting grassroots progress by equipping Nigerian students with critical tech skills.

The YCP has already empowered over 2,000 students worldwide with hands-on training in Zoho Creator. Participants receive completion certificates and enticing rewards.

The program boosts confidence, fosters personal growth, and opens doors to new opportunities in the tech industry. Zoho’s investment in young minds aims to spark creativity and innovation, making essential tools accessible to everyone.

Maryblessing Okolie, Community Manager of SCA, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership. She stated, “The ‘Young Creators Program’ aims to bridge the technical skill gap and support talent-building for our youth who will be the next generation of leaders and professionals.

“We are glad to partner with Zoho to help our trainers learn the latest advancements in low-code technology, and then pass on the knowledge to our other students.”
