NIGCOMSAT and Hotspot have partnered to bring internet access to rural areas in Nigeria. This initiative aims to provide high-speed internet to underserved communities.
In a recent announcement, Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited shared the news of its partnership with Hotspot. Hotspot specializes in rural connectivity, and this collaboration will launch the first phase within six months.
The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) supports this project. It will use the NigComSat-1R Ka-Band platform. This technology will enhance internet connectivity in rural areas. Both companies aim to close the digital gap and offer reliable internet services to remote communities.

Empowering Communities with Digital Access
Aisha Bantam, NIGCOMSAT’s Assistant General Manager of Corporate Affairs, highlighted the benefits of this partnership.
She emphasized the importance of combining NIGCOMSAT’s satellite infrastructure with Hotspot’s rural connectivity expertise. Se also highlighted that this will help bridge the digital divide and foster socioeconomic growth in Nigeria.

Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director and CEO of NIGCOMSAT, also added the company’s commitment to connecting underserved communities.

Additionally, Hotspot’s CEO, Engineer Morenikeji Aniye, expressed excitement about the collaboration. He affirmed Hotspot’s mission to connect millions of unconnected individuals.
