Nigerian President Bill Tinubu has appointed Bosun Tijani, the Co-founder, and CEO of Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), as the country’s new Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
Tijani, who has been at the helm of the now renowned CcHUB which works to identify and nurture solution-oriented startups in Africa, was appointed following a vetting process by the country’s Senate.
Despite his impeccable resume in the tech ecosystem, Tijani’s nomination to serve in Nigeria’s supreme policy-making body faced opposition from a section of the lawmakers who found issues with his previous utterances criticizing the country’s leadership.
However, Tijani apologized and affirmed that he was ready to work with all stakeholders in government in his new mandate.
“After an eventful few days, I want to again express my gratitude to His Excellency President Bola Tinubu for seeing it fit to nominate me,” Tijani noted in a statement.
“I am grateful to all who have been part of this story which highlights our collective passion for greater Nigeria.”

But for his previously made statements, there was almost no doubt about Tijani’s suitability in occupying an office mandated to spur the country’s digital economy and innovation given his credentials and accomplishments.
Tijani, 46, holds several academic qualifications including a Diploma in Computer Science and a BSc in Economics
from the University of Jos in Nigeria and an MBA Course from the Lagos Business School.
In addition, the CcHUB CEO holds an MSc in Information Systems and Management from the University of Warwick and a Ph.D. in Innovation and Economic Development from the University of Leicester- among other credentials.
In his position as the CEO, Tijani has steered CcHub to continental success which has seen it expand its operations to five cities across Africa now.
His experience in the tech industry spans over two decades having worked in various organizations in different capacities around the world.
Back at home in Nigeria, Tijani has been credited for bringing global leaders in the world of tech including Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and former Twitter Boss Jack Dorsey which is a testament to his vast network.
