Ethio Telecom Opens New South South-East Region Office to Boost Digital Access

Ethio Telecom has opened a new regional office in Bale Robe to improve customer access and expand digital services in Ethiopia.

The new South South-East Region office covers Bale Zone, East Bale Zone, and part of West Arsi Zone.

It serves 29 woredas, 38 towns, and 471 rural kebeles. The office is equipped with modern infrastructure and trained staff.

This move aims to bring services closer to customers and respond to the region’s rising demand for digital communication solutions.

It also helps Ethio Telecom speed up decisions, improve service, and support local development.

The company’s earlier South East Region office in Adama had covered a vast area from Bishoftu to East Bale.

That office managed 128 service centers, mobile sites, and a wide telecom network in many towns and communities.

Recent upgrades added more 4G LTE Advanced sites, improving service and making expansion possible.

Ethio Telecom said this step follows a detailed study and a careful restructuring to serve people better.

Expansion to Support Ethiopia’s Digital Growth and Local Economy

“The new region is well-equipped with numerous mobile and fixed-line service sites,” the company said in a statement.

The region also has accessible service centers and a dedicated team to help customers in both towns and rural areas.

It includes areas rich in farming, livestock, tourism, and growing towns with major industries and flower farms.

“This closer connection, combined with equipping the area with technology and digital solutions, will provide a notable boost,” the statement said.

Ethio Telecom believes the new office will fuel Ethiopia’s digital economy and benefit the whole country.

The company plans to work with local governments, partners, and startups to bring useful and modern services.

These include telebirr and digital tools that support daily life and local businesses.

“Ethio Telecom looks forward to introducing impactful, problem-solving, and lifestyle-modernizing digital solutions,” the company stated.

This launch is a big step toward Digital Ethiopia. It ensures access, growth, and digital transformation in the region and beyond.
