The African Development Bank, AfDB has launched ENNOVA, an AI-powered platform. It connects entrepreneurs, investors, educators, and support organizations across Africa. The launch happened on February 26 at the 12th Sankalp Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sankalp Africa Summit is Africa’s largest entrepreneurship and sustainable development conference. It explores business solutions to issues like climate change and food security.
Hendrina Chalwe Doroba, the Bank’s Manager for Education and Skills Development, unveiled ENNOVA. She represented Dr. Martha Phiri, Director for Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development.
“We designed ENNOVA as part of a larger strategy to enhance skills development and job opportunities for African youth and women,” said Doroba.

A Platform for Growth and Innovation
The African Development Bank contributed $26,000 to support the summit. It was an official “knowledge partner” and sponsored a panel discussion. The discussion focused on scaling up startups using technology and innovation.
The Bank’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab also had an interactive exhibition booth. Visitors took virtual tours of the ENNOVA platform.
More than one-third of the summit’s 1,500 attendees registered for ENNOVA. The platform aims to help African entrepreneurs grow and succeed.
The launch marks a new chapter for entrepreneurship in Africa. It provides access to resources, mentorship, and investment opportunities. The Bank believes ENNOVA will drive economic growth and job creation.
