Orange Egypt showcased its latest technological advancements at the Cairo ICT 2024 conference, held from November 17 to 20. As an official sponsor of the 28th edition, the company highlighted its digital transformation solutions and innovative projects.
The exhibition took place under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications Dr. Amr Talaat attending.
Visitors explored Orange Egypt’s $135 million “New Administrative Capital Data Centre,” showcasing its role in driving Egypt’s digital transformation. The data center powers the smart infrastructure of the New Administrative Capital, attracting investments and enabling sustainable urban living.
Orange also demonstrated its upcoming 5G networks, emphasizing their transformative potential in connectivity. Visitors experienced an immersive virtual football game powered by VR technology to highlight 5G’s speed and capabilities.

Orange Launches AI-Powered Smart City Solutions
At the event, Orange Business introduced a global platform for smart city management, blending AI and advanced telecommunications. The platform offers security solutions to optimize performance and address sustainability challenges for businesses.
“Orange will unveil a groundbreaking model for Smart Cities-as-a-Service (SCS), designed to create smart city solutions powered by AI,” said Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt. The SCS model enhances city services like lighting, energy, and waste management through real-time and predictive data analysis.
Orange also presented its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. The Orange Digital Center (ODC) and “Fab Labs” hubs were showcased as key initiatives empowering youth and entrepreneurs. Thousands of startups have launched thanks to ODC programs, which offer skills training and innovation tools.
Eng. Yasser Shaker expressed pride in Orange’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting youth. He stated, “Our presence at this exhibition aims to inspire youth and encourage their entry into entrepreneurship through the advanced programs we offer.”
Hesham Mahran, Chief Business Officer at Orange Egypt, emphasized the importance of digital transformation for businesses. “The demonstrations within Orange’s pavilion affirm the strategic importance of digital transformation for businesses aiming to maintain a competitive edge,” he noted.

Osama Kamal, CEO of Mercury Communications, praised Orange’s role in Egypt’s digital future. “Orange serves as a prime example of a telecommunications company that has astutely anticipated future trends,” he said.
