Girls-In-ICT Programme Empowers Ashanti Region Girls with Digital Skills

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation (MoCD) is championing the National Girls-In-ICT (GIICT) Programme in the Ashanti Region. The initiative aims to close the gender digital divide by equipping young girls with vital ICT skills.

Led by Naa Korkoi Essah, Head of Public Relations at MoCD, the ministry is spreading awareness in Kumasi. They are engaging with media outlets to highlight the program’s benefits. This year’s theme, “Leadership,” focuses on empowering girls and preparing them for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Richard Asiamah, Regional Manager of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), emphasized the government’s dedication. He said, “The government is bridging the gender digital divide, and GIFEC proudly contributes to this initiative.”
